More info

A wonderful oil with numerous advantages for therapeutic and medical use. Among other properties, this oil is antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal. Often used in creams, dental products, hair care products and gardens for natural pest control. May be applied directly to the skin or contained in skin care products specially formulated to treat problematic skin conditions. This oil is exceptionally rich in lipids, contains a strong odour and can be diluted accordingly. Our neem oil is cold-pressed from whole neem nuts.

Insecticidal effect:

This is the area where most research has been done. Neem oil contains a variety of tetranortirterpenoids of the "azadirone", "vilasinin" and "salannin" groups, as well as a variety of other triterpenoids, all of which have an antifeedant effect. Some of these substances, after entering the insect through ingestion, interfere with the animal's metabolism. Normal growth is retarded or reproductive ability is disturbed. Likewise, developmental disorders occur in the insects' offspring, manifesting in a dysfunction of the hormonal balance that regulates molting or metamorphosis, resulting in larval lethality or deformations of the insects' locomotor and flight apparatus (Saxena, 1995). In total, neem oil contains about 50 active ingredients. The use of neem oil as a natural insecticide is superior to chemical insecticides, which usually contain only one active ingredient, because of the large number of active ingredients. It has been observed that insect pests do not develop resistance to neem oil. Thus, the use of neem oil is recommended even over a longer period of time.
Neem oil has the following advantages: pests do not develop resistance. Beneficial insects and worms are not affected. No harmful residues remain on the plants.

Directions for use: Mix 2 tablespoons of Shea WaLe cold pressed neem oil in about 4l of water and add 1 to 2 teaspoons of mild dishwashing detergent. Spread this mixture with a sprayer.
